I had loads of energy and was always jumping around, so my parents thought it would be a good idea to use up some of that energy through dance, and to give me the opportunity to have fun by mixing with other children.

I have been fortunate enough to have had many highlights and each one has been very special. I have won titles at every championship in Britain including the Scottish and Commonwealth Championships. It was a great feeling to win my 100th title and I was also delighted to win the North American Championship. Another memorable highlight was winning the Millennium Champions Challenge at Blair Castle as it was such a unique event. Dancing at Oban for the Aberdeenshire Team is always special, and winning the solo and team choreography there was a great thrill. But top of my list has to be winning the World Championship at Cowal as it was such a fantastic feeling to finally achieve my dream.

Because it is the ultimate competition in Highland Dancing and the highlight of the dancing year. Just to be part of it is fantastic and competing against other dancers from all over the world is an amazing experience. The atmosphere alone gives me butterflies in my stomach but I love it.
One highlight is performing in concerts as it always gives me a great deal of pleasure dancing to an audience and I love being able to express myself more freely. Another highlight for me has to be when I was asked by Grampian TV to take part in a TV programme. It was quite challenging competing in the World Championships knowing that the camera was watching my every step, but the film crew were fantastic and made it a memorable time I will never forget.
I don't really have a favourite dance, but what I enjoy most is dancing to good music. One dance I really enjoy performing is a particular solo choreography, mainly because I get lost in the music.
Nothing really funny has happened to me, but the most amusing things usually happen at highland games. I remember being at one games on a very windy day and while dancing on the platform I found it almost impossible to keep going and concentrate on my dance as I watched a huge gust of wind blow the judge's shelter away, while they frantically tried to hold on to it.
